With correct cleaning and annual service, a commercial soft serve machine runs 7–10 years. The compressor is the big-ticket part; everything else (gaskets, O-rings, augers) is cheap and consumable. Good habits from our warranty & service guide extend the clock.
The decision rule
- Under warranty (and under 5 years) – always take the warranty repair. AXOSPRO covers 1-Year Parts + 3-Year Compressor.
- Repair quote under 30% of a new unit – repair or refurbish and keep running.
- Over 7–10 years, or a dead compressor – replace; newer units are 20–40% more energy efficient.
- More than 4 breakdowns per year – replace; downtime cost now exceeds the machine cost.
