Clearance rules
An air-cooled soft serve machine breathes through its rear condenser. Give it 15–20 cm (6–8 in) of clear space behind and a few centimetres on each side. Block the rear and it overheats, loses capacity and trips on thermal protection. Water-cooled units need less rear air but still want side clearance for service.
Ventilation
Do not tuck the machine into a sealed cabinet or a corner with no airflow. In a hot back-bar, add a small exhaust fan or move it to a cooler spot. Poor ventilation is the #1 cause of summer freeze-ups. Pair this with the right cooling type from our air vs water cooling guide.
Noise and where people stand
The condenser fan sits at roughly 50–60 dB — like a refrigerator hum, but constant. Keep it away from a quiet dining nook or a staff break area. If the machine is customer-facing, a water-cooled model (if plumbed) is the quieter choice.
Counter load and weight
Countertop soft serve machines weigh 40–70 kg (90–155 lb) when full of mix. Confirm the counter is rated for it and is level. Floor-standing models need a level floor and a dedicated 110 V/60 Hz circuit — see the installation requirements guide (the water/drain logic is similar).
Placement by format
| Format | Key constraint | Tip |
|---|---|---|
| Restaurant back-bar | Heat + airflow | Air-cooled with rear clearance, or water-cooled if plumbed |
| Food truck | Power + vibration | Countertop air-cooled, bolted down — see food-truck picks |
| Front-of-house scoop shop | Noise + looks | Water-cooled if drain available; otherwise quiet air-cooled with clearance |
Does it need its own circuit?
Yes. Put the machine on a dedicated 15–20 A, 110 V/60 Hz circuit. Sharing with a fridge or microwave causes voltage dips that stall the compressor. Confirm amperage on the data plate before you site it.
Once placed, keep it running smoothly with the daily open/close SOP. Browse placement-ready models in the soft serve collection.
About AXOSPRO commercial frozen-dessert equipment
AXOSPRO supplies commercial soft serve machines, slush / frozen-drink machines, commercial ice makers, popsicle machines and fried-ice-cream machines for North American restaurants, cafés, bars, hotels, food trucks and scoop shops. Equipment is built by Gongly (Jiangmen Guangli Machinery), our manufacturing partner in Jiangmen, China.
Two fulfilment channels: in-stock models ship from our US warehouse in 10–15 business days; other models and custom or high-volume orders are factory-direct from Jiangmen, China by sea in 30–45 days. For factory-direct sea shipments, import duties and brokerage are the buyer's responsibility — we provide commercial invoice and packing list to clear customs. We do not state "no customs" or "no import duty", because that only applies to domestic US-warehouse orders.
Warranty: 1-year parts + 3-year compressor. Support: axosproinfo@gmail.com · +1-772-258-0386.
